The GE Fanuc IC693MDL645 is a Positive/Negative Logic Input Module belonging to the Series 90-30 product lineup. It is specifically designed to interface with a variety of input devices, including pushbuttons, limit switches, proximity switches, auxiliary contacts, and other similar industrial components.
This module features a single input group with one common terminal, capable of accepting external DC voltage signals ranging from 0 to 30 VDC (with a nominal voltage of 24 VDC). At its rated voltage, the input current requirement is 7 mA, and it offers 1500 Volts of isolation between the field side and logic side. Key electrical specifications include an ON-state voltage range of 11.5–30 VDC and an OFF-state voltage range of 0–5 VDC; for current, the minimum ON-state current is 3.2 mA, while the OFF-state current is 1.1 mA. Both the ON and OFF response times of the module are rated at 7 ms.
Intended for installation in any available slot of a Series 90-30 PLC system—compatible with 5-slot or 10-slot baseplates—the IC693MDL645 draws power from the backplane. When all inputs are active, it consumes 80 mA from the 5 VDC backplane bus and 125 mA from either the isolated 24 VDC backplane bus or a user-supplied power source. Internally, the voltage signals received by the module are stored in the %I status table for system monitoring and control.
Each input channel on the IC693MDL645 is equipped with a status LED indicator, which visually displays the energization state of the channel. These LEDs also serve as a valuable troubleshooting tool, confirming whether the signal voltage from externally connected devices has successfully reached the corresponding input point on the module. The module utilizes a 20-slot removable terminal block, and circuit information is conveniently printed on the module’s hinged door. Additionally, the terminal block comes with 20 screws, all included with the module.
